Thanks to the scouts and parents who have already made commitments to go on the Northern Tier trip this next Summer. We currently have 7 scouts that have either committed to go, or have shown true interest. We also have 4 adult leaders committed to go, with at least 2 others expressing true interest. This interest currently nets out to 1 crew with 6 scouts and 2 adults. We need at least 1 more scout (or as many as 3 more scouts) to go, so we can field 2 crews, and send all of the 6 leaders currently expressing interest.
As you know from previous emails, I wasn’t able to get our first choice in range of departure times. At the Committee meeting last night, I told you that there are numerous treks currently available leaving in the August 7-9 time frame, as well as a couple treks scattered throughout the summer. Those miscellaneous treks were:
1 – 8 day trek leaving June 20
1 – 7 day trek leaving June 27
3 – 7 day treks leaving July 4
1 – 7 day trek leaving July 3
1 – 8 day trek leaving July 3
I also told you about possible treks leaving from Atikokan base in Canada leaving in the desired July 15, 16, 17 range, but requiring passports and an additional $300.00 or so.
This availability comes and goes, at this point in reservation planning. So:
If you are (still) interested in Northern Tier this coming Summer, please email your availability to me by this Friday, October 7. The availability should be in the form of range(s) of dates you and / or your scout can be gone on the trek this coming summer. Including travel there and back, plan on giving ranges of a minimum of 9 days, and a maximum of 11 days. Feel free to prioritize your availability choices. Be advised that the (possible) 2 treks may not (probably won’t) be travelling together.
Let me know your choices. And let me know your questions.
